The Association is a community based organisation which provides affordable coaching and court hire. Since 1961 coaching and court hire has been possible because of the efforts of a small committee of voluntary workers.

The courts are leased from the Brisbane City Council whose funding, together with contributions from the Queensland Government, has helped the centre grow from two courts to eight.

When more funds become available the Brisbane City Council plans redevelopment which will provide ten courts correctly orientated, allowing two courts to be covered which may include a new club house pending Council funds.

The Association is fortunate in having obtaining Brett Plant as head coach following his experience as a professional on the world tennis circuit.
